Dan Cox
Candidate for Governor
Dan Cox is a Republican candidate for Governor of Maryland and a former member of the Maryland House of Delegates, where he represented District 4 from 2019 to 2023. A Maryland attorney, small-business owner, husband, father, and grandfather, Cox has built his public profile around constitutional rights, economic opportunity, parental involvement in education, public safety, and opposition to what he describes as excessive government overreach. He previously won the Republican nomination for governor in 2022 and is again seeking the office in the 2026 election. Cox advanced from the Republican primary on June 23, 2026, and is on the ballot for the November 3, 2026 general election. His campaign presents him as a conservative reformer focused on lowering costs for Maryland families, defending individual liberties, strengthening communities, and challenging entrenched political interests in Annapolis. Cox’s background includes legal work, public service, and prior campaigns for state and federal office. His running mate for the 2026 campaign is Robert Krop, a Frederick County businessman. Josephine Salazar is a dedicated community leader, retired federal public servant, and longtime advocate for Montgomery County families. For more than three decades, she served our nation as a federal career employee, bringing integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to public service throughout her career. Since retiring, she has continued that lifelong mission by serving her community through civic leadership, voter engagement, and grassroots advocacy.
A resident of Burtonsville, Maryland, since 1986, Josephine has spent nearly four decades serving the people of Montgomery County through volunteerism, community outreach, and personal advocacy. She has devoted countless hours helping residents of every ethnicity, faith, race, and background navigate challenges and connect with the resources they need. Her work has included assisting immigrant families with lawful pathways toward U.S. citizenship, helping review immigration paperwork, connecting residents with trusted legal resources, supporting food distribution efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic, and advocating for solutions to long-standing public safety concerns affecting local neighborhoods.
Josephine currently serves as an elected member of the Montgomery County Republican Central Committee LD14. In this role, she helps strengthen the Republican Party by recruiting candidates for local, state, and federal office, educating voters on ballot issues, promoting voter registration, and defending every citizen's constitutional right to vote. She believes political participation should be accessible to all residents regardless of ethnicity, faith, race, or personal beliefs, while upholding the timeless American values of liberty, personal responsibility, and human dignity.
